Possibility to renew wheat export from Ukraine is still absent

Economics Ministry not going to review export quotas

Ukrainian Government does not see any possibility to renew wheat export and review export quotas for other grains, however, intends to analyse such possibility till the end of February, 2007, informed Minister of Economics, Vladimir Makuha, on January, 30, during the press-conference, according to AgriMarket.

Also, he reported that quotas for export of maize and barley had been almost depleted. According to him Ministry of Economics has issued 46 licenses for export of 390.000 tonnes of maize from total quota for 500.000 tonnes and 31 licenses for export of 516.000 tonnes from 600.000 tonnes.

We remind that on January, 28, 2006, specially created commission distributed quotas for export of wheat in the current year between 11 companies, barley - between 34 companies and maize - between 43 companies.
