Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych held a working meeting with Minister of Emergencies and Affairs of Population Protection from the Consequences of Chornobyl Catastrophe Nestor Shufrych, according to the Cabinet’s press-office.
The Minister informed the Head of Government about the measures taken by the Ministry of Emergencies due to which mass highway incidents, power line breaks had been prevented which could be caused by bad weather conditions (strong rain) on January 12/13 night in some regions of Ukraine.
Nestor Shufrych told that the Ministry also works at preventing accidents on ice. The Prime Minister has commissioned the Minister of Emergencies to keep a closer patrol along the basins of mass crowds of fishermen with the purpose to prevent loss of life.
The meeting also concerned completion of preparation of the State program on ammunition utilization aimed at coordinating activity of all ministries and departments involved in this process.
Nestor Shufrych has also reported about the process of establishment of the Air Medical Service under the Ministry of Emergencies. The Head of Government commissioned to adjust all necessary issues on purchase of first helicopters for the Air Medical Service.
Besides, the Minister of Emergencies told the Prime Minister about the tender procedures for constructing “Ukryttya” (Shelter) object at the Chornobyl NPP.
