GDP grew up by 9.3% in January

The real GDP in Ukraine in January 2007 grew up by 9.3%, compared to 0.9% in January 2006, Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mykola Azarov said in a TV interview on Tuesday evening.

He said that the State Statistics Committee should publish the GDP figures on Wednesday.

Real GDP in Ukraine in 2006 increased 7%, compared to growth of 2.7% in 2005.

The government is forecasting a slowdown in GDP growth in 2007 to 6.5%, with a parallel slowdown in inflation from 11.6% in 2006 to 7.5%.
