Ukrainian Government increased quotas for export of grain in 2006/04 MY. As informed press-service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine corresponding regulations CMU No185 dd February, 13, 2007, "About alteration to Regulations of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd February, 8, 2006, No 1701"was signed by Prime-Minister of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovich, according to APK-Inform.

      According to this document quota for export of grain was increased by 864.000 tonnes till the end of 2006/07 MY, including 606.000 tonnes for barley, 30.000 tonnes for maize and 228.000 tonnes for wheat. Regulations come into force from the moment of its publication.

      As it was noticed in the message this decision of the Government was taken with the purpose of elevators unloading in Ukrainian ports.

      Press-service also notices that taking into account the results of declaration of grain keeping in elevators and farms by February, 1, 2007, there is possibility to forecast meeting the needs of domestic market and volumes of barley and maize export from Ukraine at the level of index of the 1st half 2006 year.

      Hence, Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine elaborates the project of regulatory-legal act that supposes cancellation of the regime of introduction licenses for maize and barley export, reported press-service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

      As informed, in 2006 Ukraine introduced quotas for grain export till the end of 2006 in volume of 1.106 mln tonnes, including wheat and rye - 3.000 tonnes to each one accordingly, barley - 600.000 tonnes, maize - 500.000 tonnes.
