Minister of Labor and Social Policy of Ukraine Mykhaylo Papiyev notes that if the state does not pay sufficient attention to the payment for work and social policy, in the nearest years the country will see a deficit of qualified workforce.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Minister said this at a press conference in Kyiv today, answering the questions of journalists.
“The main problem in the nearest years will be the deficit of a qualified workforce”, the Minister said, adding that there are documents in the European countries, open for a free access, indicating that in the nearest years Ukraine will play a role of a labor resources donor for EU countries.
M.Papiyev specified that the labor market of Ukraine today exigently needs metal workers, milling-machine operators, turners, welders. As for specialists, the country lacks design engineers, mechanical engineers, power engineers, and agricultural specialists.
According to the information of the Minister, today Ukrainian higher educational institutions “prepare more lawyers and economists than the whole Europe".
