During the first quarter of 2006, the flow-out of capital from Ukraine made up 3 billion US dollars.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Economics Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk claimed this at the extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers, devoted to discussing the results of the social-economic development of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2006.
At the same time, he noted that only during January-February the flow-out of the capital made up 2 billion dollars, while during the same period of the last year – 822 million dollars.
The Minister stressed that the flow-out of the capital, by assessments of the Economics Ministry, is not connected with the repatriation of investments, but is a consequence of understating the import of commodities.
