Today First Vice Prime Minister, Finance Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov had talks with President of General Electric Healthcare International Reinaldo Garcia, according to the government’s press-office.
General Electric Healthcare International is a part of transnational concern General Electric which deals with development, financing and manufacture of equipment and decisions in health protection.
Mr. Garcia has arrived to Ukraine to study our branch of health protection, demands and plans of its development and to discuss opportunities for General Electric Healthcare International to partake in programs of medical field modernizing.
Reinaldo Garcia admitted that he was surprised by the level of work of Ukrainian doctors, in particular achievements of specialists of Children Cardiosurgery Centre. He also understands the barest necessity to make this high level of service available at every nook of the country.
At this, General Electric Healthcare International states readiness to share experience in creation a model of integration of private medical services and social state medicine with Ukrainian Government, to contribute into founding of Oncology Centre introducing PET (positron emission tomography) facilities, Mother and Child Centre.
In the year 2007 we have laid foundation of deep modernization of medical branch, in his turn informed Mykola Azarov. The Government allots for medicine a unique for Ukraine resource totaling 26 bn hrn. Over the period of 5 years we strive to create a network of up-to-date specialized and regional medical diagnostic centres, draw high-quality medical services closer to people’s accommodation and render those vital facilities still beyond the reach in Ukraine.
Mykola Azarov stressed that Government hails private investments into medical area together with state investment programs. We realize that for the state it is of greater effectiveness to acqiure certain high-quality services than to wait for an opportunity to create them and uphold, as opined First Vice Prime Minister. In order to realize “turnkey” diverse target projects the Government is ready to provide state credit guarantees. Moreover, real investors are able to attain budget programs of credit price reducing and preference to innovation technologies within the framework of special regime of technoparks. In addition the budget envisages costs for education and training of Ukrainian specialists in leading foreign medical centres, for attracting noted foreign experts to work in Ukraine.
The parties agreed that Ministry of Health protection and Finance Ministry of Ukraine are to consider propositions of General Electric Healthcare International concerning “turnkey” construction of medical establishments, crediting of Ukrainian programs and grants for invigoration of population.
