The talks on transferring to gas supplies without the mediation of RosUkrEnergo may begin in the nearest future.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliyev claimed this to a press conference in the Cabinet of Ministers, commenting on the statements of Gazprom deputy chairman of board Valeriy Golubev concerning transferring to direct gas supplies to Ukraine from Russia, without the mediation of RosUkrEnergo.

“As of today, we have not discussed this issue, I guess it will be discussed in the nearest future at a session of a joint international commission or at the inter-government level”, A.Kliuyev said.

Asked to specify the date of beginning the talks, A.Kliuyev surmised they will probably begin as early as in March.

Asked whether the gas price may soar as a result of refusing from the services of RosUkrEnergo, he said the government pursues a policy of keeping prices at the current level, and not only in the sphere of gas.
