The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has strengthened the defense of nuclear objects in Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, SBU top deputy chief, acting SBU chief Valentyn Nalyvaychenko, claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv today.
“We have strengthened very much the attention to defense of nuclear objects of our country”, he said, adding that the same attention is paid to non-proliferation of nuclear materials from the Ukrainian territory.
According to V.Nalyvaychenko, in this connection, SBU carries out trainings at the territory of these objects.
Asked by journalists about the reason of strengthening the nuclear security, the SBU acting chief explained this level of nuclear objects secrutiy is stipulated by the Ukrainian and international legislation.
