Within the framework of celebrating the 61st anniversary of the Victory in the Second world war, a whole range of solemn measures will be held in Kyiv. Veterans, military men, and Armed Forces of Ukraine employees will be involved in it.
According to the press-service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, on 4 May at 15.00, veterans and military men will take part in a concert, which will be held in the International Center for Culture and Arts.
At 15.00 on 5 May, a number of Kyiv garrison military men will take part in a meeting-reception of Second World War veterans, organized by the Kyiv City State Administration.
At 14.30 on 6 May, the solemn measures will be held in the Big Hall of the General Headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Defense Minister of Ukraine Anatoliy Hrytsenko will award Second World war veterans and military men of the Ukrainian Armed Forces HQ.
On May 9, the anniversary of the Victory, during 8.00 – 10.30 a.m., veterans, military men, and Armed Forces employees, will take part in memorial rituals.
In particular, a delegation of the Defense Ministry will lay flowers to the grave of the Unknown Soldier, as well as other military memorials.
The same day, military men of the Kyiv garrison will take part in the solemn march on Khreshchatyk.
