The Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine forecasts the decrease of late grains production volumes in the country, due to the hot weather conditions, according to www.agrimarket.info.
On August 2, Tatjana Adamenko, the Head of the Department of Agrometeorology of the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine, said that the regional services of the Center announce about sowings drying in several regions of the country. According to her, grain losses due to the fatal heat are unavoidable.
According to her, maize crop will face the decrease of 30% compared to the previous forecast, due to the heat. Besides, high air temperature has rather negative impact on future crop of sunflower. The further development of the situation will depend on duration of the hot and dry weather.
The previous forecast of grain production of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy formed the level of 42.1 mln tonnes in 2010 as opposed to 46 mln tonnes in 2009.
