A three-day session of the inter-government Ukrainian-Turkish commission for issues of commercial-economic collaboration has opened in Kyiv.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, opening the session, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak stressed that the main task of the commission is to develop collaboration between the two countries, especially in the sphere of building.

According to him, Turkey is the third country-exporter for Ukraine. The bilateral turnover between the two countries made up 3 billion 159 million dollars in 2006.

In his turn, chairman of the Turkish part of the commission, State Minister Kiushrad Tiuzmen underscored the significant growth of the Ukrainian economics over the recent years. According to him, Turkey hopes to strengthen the collaboration with Ukraine, and increase the level of turnover up to 10 billion dollars. As of today, by his information, the Turkish investments into the Ukrainian economics make up 20 million dollars.

The commission is about to consider several issues of the bilateral economic collaboration, to hold a session of Ukrainian-Turkish business council, and international business-forum “Business Without Borders: Investments and Trade Ukraine-Turkey 2007”.
