“Accedence to the World Trade Organization in 2007 will be an important event for Ukraine,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told at joint press conference with Head of the Polish Government Jarosław Kaczyński in Warsaw, according to the government’s press-office.
Viktor Yanukovych is confident that this year Ukraine accedes to the World Trade Organization and thereafter creates free economic area with the European Union.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine told about significant progress in trade-economic cooperation with Poland: last year the commodity turnover between the two countries increased by 43 percent and in the first quarter of the current year by 49 percent.
The Ukrainian PM stressed that key subject of the intergovernmental negotiations was discussion of energy and transport cooperation.
Viktor Yanukovych said that political stability of the two countries would promote the Ukrainian-Polish cooperation.
