Yanukovych: Government allocates 4,2 billion UAH for increasing wages

Viktor Yanukovych is confident that results of the Government’s activity in the first quarter of the year allow essentially increasing wages of the budget employees. The Prime Minister of Ukraine stated at the Cabinet sitting, according to the government’s press-office.
According to the PM, by its resolution the Cabinet of Ministers means to increase expenditures for remuneration of labor for the budget employees by 4,2 billion UAH that enables beginning 1 June to introduce conditions for remuneration of labor for the budget employees on the basis of the second stage of the Uniform tariff scale.
At that, as the Prime Minister noted, official salary of a doctor or a teacher of the 12th wage category beginning 1 June increases by 130 hryvnjas or by 19,2 percent. Taking into account the increase of minimum wage since 1 April 2007 this increase will amount to 162 hryvnjas or 25,2 percent beginning 1 June 2007.
“I answer the populists and carpers at once. Such essential increase of wages we have planned at the beginning of March yet. I have commissioned to prepare these proposals during my working trip to Rivne region on 13 March 2007. I emphasize: it is possible due to the efficient work of the Government which has created necessary basis according to the results of the first quarter of this year,” Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
