Grain crop to total 27-28 mln tons in Ukraine

Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine forecasts earlier grain and leguminous crop at 27-28 mln tons in the current year, down 6-7 mln tons from the previous year, according to AgriMarket.

According to Yuriy Luzan, Ministry forecasts the wheat crop reduction to 12 mln tons in the current year, down 2 mln tons as compared to 2006. At that, Ministry does not expect for the problem of food supply for the country.

Thus, according to the calculations of Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, country needs about 7 mln tons of milling grains, including 5.8 mln tons of wheat.
