President leaves for Donetsk

Accompanied by Secretariat Chief of Staff Viktor Baloha and Security Council Chairman Ivan Plyushch, President Victor Yushchenko has left for a one-day visit to Ukraine’s Donetsk region to mark its 75-year anniversary, according to the President`s press-office.

The president is expected to visit the Expo-Donbass exhibition center to view an anniversary exhibition of the region’s industrial achievements.

Yushchenko will then attend celebrations in the Solovyanenko Opera and Ballet Theatre, which will be broadcast live by Donetsk Television and Radio Company, UT 1, Channel 5 and UTR.

He will also lay wreaths at the Taras Shevchenko monument.
