President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko at the 60th anniversary of Sophia Rotaru, which she celebrated on August 7 in Livadia Palace, presented to the singer the order “For merits” of ІІ of Second Class.
According to the press service of the Head of State, the order was presented in compliance with Decree “for great personal contribution to the development of the Ukrainian music art, high masterly performance and long-term fruitful activity”.
Congratulating Sophia Rotaru, the President highly evaluated the role, which the creativity of Sophia Rotaru has played for many years for Ukraine and its people. “I really respect what you are doing at the stage and I am sure that you do much more - by the Ukrainian song you create the spirit and energy, which bring out identity”, said V. Yushchenko.
