President points out reasons for price rise
He thinks government has now control over the prices
In his interview in Chernigiv President said that consumer price rise was the result of deep deficit policy of the government, according to the President`s press-office.
President remarked that due to high GDP growth the budget deficit should be no higher than 1-1,5 % while the government sets it to be 2,8% for 2008, which is the highest index for the last 7 years.
Victor Yushchenko pointed out high increase of external debt and state expenses among other reasons for price rise. He thinks all this proves government has now control over the prices.
Deep budget deficit will have negative effect on national economy in the future. "Thus fixing up the budget deficit problem, keeping control over state expenses, public competitive privatization - these are the very first cures for the problems Ukrainian government is facing due to badly though-out macro-economical policy," President said.
