“I am extremely pleased to be present at the Ukrainian forum session which includes the best representatives of Ukrainian intelligentsia,” First Vice Prime Minister, Finance Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov congratulated participants of the international conference “Strategy Partnership of Ukraine and Russia: Myths and Realias”, according to the government’s press-office.
The First Vice Prime Minister expressed trouble that the Ukrainian-Russian relations had not reached the level we could reach. Russia is the nearest and biggest partner of Ukraine after al,l therefore it would be logical, according to Mykola Azarov, to head for deep integration processes and strengthening relations between two countries.
Reminding of numerous successful inter-state projects, the First Vice Prime Minister stressed that the Government would continue to follow the path which could ensure competitive development of Ukraine. And this path both in the past and in the future is connected with Russia.
Mykola Azarov focused attention of the conference participants on peculiarities of Ukraine’s location which significantly point to Russia as a strategy partner, - “We are a transit state. And whatever ideal our transport corridors they are approaching the Ukrainian-Russian border”.
Among directions of further cooperation of two countries the First Vice Prime Minister called constructing a good highway between Odessa and St. Petersburg, common projects in aviation, space spheres, nanotechnology development, high technologies and many others.
“The elections will end and life is going on. So we must sit together, find common interests and develop strategy partnership. There is no other way for our countries,” Mykola Azarov stressed.
