The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and Our Ukraine – People’s Self Defence Bloc agreed that transfer to creation of Armed Forces of Ukraine on contract basis will take place from January 1, 2009 and draft for term military service will be canceled from January 1, 2008.
It is said in the coalition agreement text between the BYUT and OU-PSD, it is publicized today at the web sites of the blocs.
In this agreement the participators of the Coalition undertake to fulfill completely the measures of cooperation with organization of the North-Atlantic Treaty; to provide state financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance to characteristics, set by the State Development Program of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; to approve the legislative acts, directed to continuing of participation of Ukraine in military and military-technique cooperation with foreign countries.
Also they are about to cancel the disproportions in finance providing of servicemen and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military institutions, to forecast spending correspondent costs in the State Budget; introduce the mechanism of housing credit for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military institutions, in order to cancel the line for houses, to provide spending correspondent costs in the State Budget; to provide spending costs in the State Budget for creating Fund of Work Apartment (for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military institutions).
