Future of “Ukraine” missile cruiser again solved
A deputy Defense Minister headed a special working group
The inter-departmental working group for preparing proposals concerning the future use of “Ukraine” missile cruiser was headed by deputy Defense Minister Valeriy Ivashchenko.
This is said in the Cabinet of Ministers’ decree #938-r dated 31 October 2007, posted at the government’s web site.
In line with the decree, the inter-departmental working group will be formed of representatives of the Defense Ministry, the Industrial Policy Ministry, the Economics Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Communication and Transport Ministry, State Property Fund, and Ukrspetsexport state-owned company.
The government commissioned the working group to prepare and send to the Defense Ministry the proposals concerning the further use of “Ukraine” missile cruiser at 30 March 2008.
Earlier, Defense Minister Anatoliy Hrytsenko claimed that the Ministry spends annually nearly 5 million hryvnias on the maintenance of “Ukraine”.
