On commission of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych under chairmanship of Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Kuzmuk and Dmytro Tabachnyk a sitting devoted to recent events in Crimea took place in the Government House, according to the government’s press-office.
Leaders of the AR of Crimea, Interior Ministry, State Committee for Nationalities and Religion as well State Committee for TV and Radio Broadcasting participated in the sitting.
The participants have thoroughly analyzed the situation at the peninsula and discussed ways of its solving. According to the results of the sitting, a decision on obliging the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to hold special sitting during which problem issues should be considered in detail and relevant decisions taken and to hold joint collegium of the Interior Ministry Main Department and Office of Public Prosecutor of the AR of Crimea has been adopted.
As UNIAN reported earlier, a group of Crimean Tartars started pitching up a tent city in the center of Simpheropol, protesting against the politics of the local powers towards Crimean Tartar people.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, two big army tents were pitched at the central square of the city, at Lenin’s Square. However, the tent city will grow, participants of the protest note.
According to press secretary of Majlis of Crimean Tartars Lilia Muslimova, the tents are established “as a sign of protest against politics of the local powers towards Crimean Tartars and also as a sign of protest against actions of the police”, considering the recent events at the plateau of Aj-Petri and at Balaklavskaya Street in Simpheropol.
According to the words of L. Muslimova, the number of tents is increasing with coming of people from Crimean regions.
Moreover, the mass rally of the Crimean Tartars will take place in the nearest future (probably, this weekends).
As UNIAN reported earlier, the clashes because of land took place last week at Balaklavskaya Street in Simpheropol. The demolition of unauthorized buildings of Tartars–businessmen was carried out at plateau of Aj-Petri on November 6. Crimean Tartars said that police beat them during the demolition of the buildings. Police representatives note that the demolition was carried out on the legal grounds, according to the decision of the court.
