Transport and Communication Minister of Ukraine Mykola Rudkovskiy headed the coordination headquarters, created in order to prevent and timely respond to emergencies in the area of Black Sea and Azov Sea basins.

According to the Transport and Communication Ministry’s press-service, M.Rudkovskiy was forced to interrupt his working visit to Munich, where he planned to take part in the Central European-American Conference for issues of airports infrastructure (12-13 November).

The coordination headquarters, headed by the Minister, provides interaction and prompt sharing information between the Emergency Ministry, State Frontier Guard Service, local authorities. The headquarters also coordinates activities with rescue services of the Russian Federation.

The HQ began its operation at 6.00 a.m. on 11 November, and will work till the situation with ships in the Black and Azov Seas is settled.
