Some 300 people continue clearing the coastline of Kosa Tuzla island from the oil products which covered the swaths of sand at island as a result of ship wrecks in the Kerch Strait.

According to the Emergency Ministry’s Crimean Directorate press-office, on the whole, more than 350 tons of oil products, mixed with sand and seaweeds, have been collected. Nearly 4 kilometers of the coast were polluted. “The collected oil products will be loaded to a Russian tugboat and utilized at the territory of Russia”, rescuers say.

According to the information of the Emergency Ministry, additional equipment, including 12 excavators, bulldozers, and dumper trucks, were sent to the island to collect oil products.
