President awards winners of competition on Holodomor 1932-33

More than 50 thousands pupils, students, participated in competition

President Victor Yushchenko awarded the winners All-Ukrainian competition “Holodomor 1932-33. Ukraine remembers”. The event took place today in Kyiv “Ukrainian House”, according to the President`s press-office.

On behalf of Ukraine President thanked the participants for their “efforts and devotion to one of the tragic pages of our history”. “It is a tremendously significant and grand work in the name of one’s nation”, - V. Yushchenko said.

Arraigners of the competition were Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Ukrainian Institute of National Heritage.

Contestants sent their works between September 1 and November 14, 2007. More than 50 thousands of school pupils, students, post-graduates and teachers participated in the competition altogether. During the last fourth stage of the competition 237 works were presented. These were films, publications, collective projects etc.
