Yulia Tymoshenko named ”Person of the Year”
For the second time
Korrespondent Magazine named Yulia Tymoshenko as its “Person of the Year”, according to the government’s press-office.
As chief editor of the magazine Vitaliy Sych noted, in 2007 Yulia Tymoshenko had become “Person of the Year” for the second time for being the main figure which had influenced the political events in the country last year.” One can dispute over Your views but one can only admire Your resoluteness and consistency,” he stressed, adding that Yulia Tymoshenko was the first person who had received the “Person of the Year title twice. “To present day there was not such person in Ukraine – You are the first,” Vitaliy Sych said. The chief editor has presented to Yulia Tymoshenko her portrait as an award.
Yulia Tymoshenko thanked Vitaliy Sych for “non-standard approach to award”.
“Criticism which appears in your magazine gives rise to activities. We accept criticism, make conclusions and try to be better,” the Head of Government said, noting that she starts her day by “reading the press on the way to the job”.
Yulia Tymoshenko has also tanked personnel of the magazine for creating a professional edition which is one of the best among such editions today, wishing both “Korrespondent” and all mass media “unlimited freedom” as well as objectivity and more positive news in their publications. “People should feel that not everything is so bad,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine noted.
