“We will not only block the rostrum (of the Verkhovna Rada), now we are preparing large-scale protest actions, and are starting the negotiations process with other political parties, which share the position of Communists concerning Ukraine’s joining NATO”, said P. Symonenko.

He is confident that the signing by the state leadership of the letter to the NATO Secretary General was a mere exceeding of their authority and an usurpation of power.

P. Symonenko noted that the CPU collected 4 mln of signatures for carrying out a referendum on this issue, but the Presidential Secretariat had been blocking this initiative for a year.

The Communist leader underscored that the CPU insists on carrying out the referendum before strengthening cooperation with Alliance.

According to his words, Ukraine’s joining MAP will aggravate the relations with the nearest neighbors, in particular, with RF and Belarus. P. Symonenko noted that the Ukraine’s joining NATO has nothing in common with our future joining the European Union.
