Tymoshenko considers necessary to revise gas transit price for Russia
Russia will have to pay a market price for its gas transit
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko believes that Ukraine and Russia must hold negotiations on the cost of the Russian gas transit through the Ukrainian territory.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, she claimed this to a press conference at a government’s session today.
The Prime Minister noted that Russia has increased by three times the gas price for Ukraine, but, at the same time, the transit rate remained unchanged.
“It is high time for Ukraine and Russia to discuss the cost of the Russian gas transit through the Ukrainian territory to Europe”, she stressed.
Yulia Tymoshenko pointed out that she has already commissioned specialists to analyze the operation of transit systems and prices on such services in other countries.
“With such arguments, speaking about market prices, we may launch a negotiations process with Russia”, the Prime Minister stressed.
