President participates in WEF Pipeline Politics section
Ukraine meets its obligations as transit country for energy resources
President Victor Yushchenko participated in Pipeline Politics section of the World Economic Forum, according to the President`s press-office.
V. Yushchenko assured those present that Ukrainian side fully understands its responsibility for energy security of Europe and meets its obligations resulting from being a transit country for energy resources.
President also informed that one of the strategic directions of Ukrainian energy policy is modernization and development of the existing gas-transport infrastructure.
Along with Victor Yushchenko participants of the discussion were EBRD President Jean Lemierre, Director of the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development at Stanford University`s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies David Victor and representatives of business groups.
