Deputy chief of the parliamentary Committee for Fuel-Energy Complex Issues, lawmaker Yuri Boyko claims that gas siphoning without any agreements will cause a political scandal.
Yuri Boyko said this in an interview with a Ukrainian television.
“Since January 1 of the current year, gas has been taken from gas pipelines without agreements, and this will really be a political scandal for our country. I believe that the President timely put this issue for the consideration of the National Security and Defense Council”, he said.
Asked about the financial condition of Naftohaz Ukrayiny NJSC and prospects of its development, Yuri Boyko stressed that “if the budget for the year 2008, and, correspondingly, the financial plan of Naftohaz, is not changed, and the unauthorized gas siphoning is not stopped, the company will face serious financial problems.
