“I has not written anything, and I will not do that. I categorically refuse to do that. I want to report on my work”, V.Semeniuk stressed.

According to her, the issue of resignation must not be considered without explanations, without any report about the work done. “You know, even in court offenders are allowed to make the last statement. How can they consider the issue of my resignation? Moreover, mass media disseminated information that as if I sent in my resignation. I explain: I wrote an application to the registry office, but not for resignation”, she said.

According to V.Semeniuk, the rule of law is necessary in this issue. According to the law, the President of Ukraine submits an application for the dismissal, and the parliament approves it or turns down. At the same time, according to the information of V.Semeniuk, the President did not submit any application for her dismissal.

“All this turmoil takes place because they need to appoint their man as the chief of fund. There will be not a privatization, but a re-distribution of property in favor of those who want it”, V.Semeniuk stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a draft law #1332, dated January 14, has been registered at the web site of the Verkhovna Rada. It reads: “In line with provision 12, article 85 of the Ukrainian Constitution, the Verkhovna Rada rules to dismiss Valentyna Semeniuk from the post of the State Property Fund chief on the basis of her application for resignation”.

V.Semeniuk was appointed SPFU chief on 13 April, 2005.

The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to appoint BYuT representative Andriy Portnov for the post of the SPFU chief.
