Yulia Tymoshenko noted that warm and friendly welcome in the EuroParliament is evidence of the European Union’s wish to view Ukraine as a reliable partner in the future.

“I would like to thank Europarliamentarians for supporting of the reform process in Ukraine. The European Parliament has always supported democratic changes in Ukraine and I made sure that we’ll have such support in future,” the Head of Government emphasized.

The PM is confident that new enhanced Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, which is to substitute the current Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, will ensure transference of the relations to qualitative new level.

In his turn, the President of the European Parliament expressed conviction that Ukraine has the right to enter NATO and it can’t have a negative impact on the Ukrainian-Russian relations.

Hans-Gert Pottering noted that Russia should respect Ukraine’s eventual decision on joining NATO.

“Ukraine has the right to enter NATO, if NATO approves it,” the President of the European Parliament said.
