Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko is confident that the inflation in 2008 will not exceed 9.6 – 9.8%.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko said this at a government’s session today.
“The inflation must be trimmed, the previous government finished the year with an inflation at almost 17%. We state that, this year, regardless of any difficult conditions, and regardless of the negative base, from which we had started, we must finish the year at the level no higher than 10%”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
According to her, the significant reduction of the inflation will become a powerful signal for stabilizing economic processes, taking place in Ukraine today.
“Our government is able to reduce the inflation almost twice compared with the previous year, and we will try to do that. To reach this goal, we need a coordinated, professional work of all power branches”, Yulia Tymoshenko pointed out.
