Ukraine's Health Ministry says seven Ukrainian regions were not ready for the easing of the coronavirus-related quarantine as of July 12.

The epidemic situation in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ternopol, and Chernihiv regions does not meet the criteria for loosening anti-epidemic measures, the ministry said on its website.

In Zakarpattia region, the bed occupancy rate in hospitals designated for COVID-19 patients is higher than the ceiling, while the number of coronavirus tests in Donetsk and Chernihiv regions is lower than the required number.

In Volyn, Zakarpattia, and Rivne regions, the share of positive PCR tests for coronavirus is higher than the threshold.

Ternopil region does not meet the criterion of incidence dynamics.

As UNIAN reported earlier, 678 new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 were reported in Ukraine in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 53,521 as of the morning of July 12.

Lviv region was in the lead by number of COVID-19 patients with 7,003 cases confirmed since the coronavirus pandemic reached Ukraine. Of them, 121 were confirmed in the past day. The city of Kyiv ranked second with 6,182 confirmed cases, including 67 in the past 24 hours.
