Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has listed three regions that are in the lead by the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past day.

"In terms of the regions, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Lviv region (143 cases), Zakarpattia region (72), and Rivne region (72)," he said at a briefing on July 1.

In total, 22,298 tests were conducted in the country in the past day. In particular, there were 10,053 tests done with the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 12,245 with the application of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

Overall incidence per region is as follows: 1,876 cases in Vinnytsia region (1,220 recoveries); 2,427 in Volyn region (717); 1,090 in Dnipropetrovsk region (926); 484 in Donetsk region (166); 1,408 in Zhytomyr region (831); 2,961 in Zakarpattia region (953); 572 in Zaporizhia region (425); 2,438 in Ivano-Frankivsk region (1,098); 5,138 in the city of Kyiv (1,598); 2,610 in Kyiv region (1,356); 647 in Kirovohrad region (541); 80 in Luhansk region (59); 5,578 in Lviv region (800); 447 in Mykolayiv region (383); 1,712 in Odesa region (737); 319 in Poltava region (230); 3,784 in Rivne region (1,815); 297 in Sumy region (230); 1,930 in Ternopil region (1,160); 2,169 in Kharkiv region (1,104); 193 in Kherson region (176); 805 in Khmelnytsky region (548); 645 in Cherkasy region (474); 4,850 in Chernivtsi region (1,916); and 538 in Chernihiv region (145).

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 44,998 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 1. They include 1,173 deaths and 19,548 recoveries. Some 664 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
