Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has listed three regions that are in the lead by the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past day.

"In terms of the regions, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Lviv region (176 cases), Volyn region (118), and the city of Kyiv (118)," he said at a briefing on July 4.

In total, 29,736 tests were conducted in the country in the past day. In particular, there were 11,825 tests done with the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 17,911 with the application of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 47,677 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 4. They include 1,227 deaths and 21,155 recoveries. Some 914 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
