Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has listed four regions that are in the lead by the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past day.

"Speaking per each region, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Lviv region (161 cases), Odesa region (134), Kharkiv region (129), and Ivano-Frankivsk region (114)," he said at a briefing on August 11, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

In total, 32,412 tests were conducted in the country in the past day. In particular, there were 16,127 tests done with the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 16,285 with the application of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

Background

Some 1,158 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ukraine in the past 24 hours as of August 11, 2020.

The total number of confirmed cases grew to 83,115.
