Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine's Health Ministry has already received about 500,000 locally produced polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for COVID-19.
"The Health Ministry has already received about half a million PCR tests of Ukrainian production," he said on Facebook on April 27. "And almost 200,000 such tests will be shipped today."

"In terms of quality and accuracy, they comply with international standards," he added.
To fight against COVID-19, it is very important to detect the virus on time, the president said. That is why the Ukrainian authorities are increasing Ukrainian laboratories' capacities. "Our goal is to have at least 10,000 PCR tests per day," he said.
What is more, planes are expected to arrive from China in Ukraine to deliver personal protective gear and medical equipment.
