The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ukraine was 12,331 on Monday morning.

"According to the Public Health Center, there were to 12,331 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on May 4," Ukraine's Health Ministry said on Facebook in its morning update on May 4.

Of them, 418 cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

Now the novel coronavirus was recorded in the following regions: 436 cases in Vinnytsia region; 340 in Volyn region; 460 in Dnipropetrovsk region; 81 in Donetsk region; 430 in Zhytomyr region; 531 in Zakarpattia region; 285 in Zaporizhia region; 984 in Ivano-Frankivsk region; 401 in Kirovohrad region; 1,535 in the city of Kyiv; 853 in Kyiv region; 506 in Lviv region; 37 in Luhansk region; 161 in Mykolayiv region; 427 in Odesa region; 227 in Poltava region; 750 in Rivne region; 112 in Sumy region; 896 in Ternopil region; 361 in Kharkiv region; 139 in Kherson region; 116 in Khmelnytsky region; 1,887 in Chernivtsi region; 312 in Cherkasy region; 64 in Chernihiv region.

Data from Russia-occupied areas – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions – is not available.

The tests were conducted with the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the Public Health Center's virological reference laboratory and regional laboratories.

As of the morning of May 4, 2020, the Center had received 546 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. In total, there have been 32,270 reports on suspected COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020.

A total of 303 COVID-19 deaths have already been recorded in the country. Some 1,619 patients have recovered.
