Ukraine sees new record spike in daily COVID-19 cases
Ukraine has seen a new record spike in daily COVID-19 cases when the number of new positive coronavirus patients grew by 829 in the past 24 hours.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 34,063 as of 09:00 Kyiv time on June 18, according to the interactive map of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
The largest number of new cases was registered in Lviv region (171), Zakarpattia region (74), and Rivne region (73).

There are 75,754 suspected COVID-19 cases in Ukraine now, the NSDC said.
On June 17, the Ukrainian government extended the so-called adaptive quarantine until July 31 over a spike in the incidence in the past week. The easing of the coronavirus-related lockdown started on May 22.
The adaptive quarantine means that the respective restrictions will be lifted only in those regions where the epidemic situation allows. In other regions, the quarantine-related measures may be enhanced if the situation worsens.
