Over 9,800 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Ukraine as of November 16 / Photo from UNIAN

As many as 9,832 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Ukraine in the past day as of the morning of November 16.

Thus, the total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed since the start of the epidemic in the country has reached 545,689, according to the interactive map compiled by the National Security and Defense Council.

Meanwhile, 244,197 patients (including 2,753 in the past 24 hours) have already recovered. There are 624,656 suspected cases as of today.

Most cases of coronavirus were recorded in the city of Kyiv, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, and Odesa regions.

Weekend quarantine in Ukraine

  • On November 11, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to introduce the so-called weekend quarantine starting from November 14.
  • The government repealed the adaptive quarantine system and imposed a nationwide quarantine with curbs for all territories that were in effect in the previous version of the coronavirus quarantine in territories with the orange risk level.
