Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has listed the regions that are in the lead by the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past day.

"Speaking per each region, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Kharkiv region (209 cases), Lviv region (166), Ivano-Frankivsk region (138), the city of Kyiv (133), Chernivtsi region (130), and Odesa region (114)," he said at a briefing on August 13, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

In total, 36,632 tests were conducted in the country in the past day. In particular, there were 18,984 tests done with the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 17,648 with the application of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

As UNIAN reported earlier, 1,592 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ukraine in the past 24 hours as of August 13, 2020.
