Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council reports 1,112 new active cases of COVID-19 recorded across the country over the past day.
This brings a total of cases reported since the start of pandemic to 72,168, according to the NSDC's Coronavirus Epidemic Monitoring System.
The largest number of positive COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours was seen in Ivano-Frankivsk region (115) and Lviv region (112).

Also, over the past day, 235 people recovered and 16 died.
According to the NSDC, since the outbreak of the epidemic in Ukraine, 1,725 people died of COVID-19, while 39,543 successfully recovered.
The number of active cases as of the morning of August 2 stood at 30,900.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ministry of Health predicts about 4,000 COVID-19 fatalities.
