The number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Ukraine has reached 8,125, says the updated report by the Public Health Center as of 9:30 Kyiv time on April 25.

In the past day, the country reported 478 new cases, including six fatalities and a record 181 recoveries.

The total number of lethal cases stands at 201, while 782 patients have recovered.

As of now the coronavirus has been recorded in the following regions: Vinnytsia region (377 cases); Volyn region (212); Dnipropetrovsk region (240); Donetsk region (27); Zhytomyr region (337); Zakarpattia region (286); Zaporizhia region (171); Ivano-Frankivsk region (700); Kirovohrad region (306); the city of Kyiv (1,159); Kyiv region (519); Lviv region (317); Luhansk region (28); Mykolaiv region (103); Odesa region (183); Poltava region (169); Rivne region (483); Sumy region (94); Ternopil region (565); Kharkiv region (125); Kherson region (79); Khmelnytsky region (66); Chernivtsi region (1,308); Cherkasy region (249); and Chernihiv region (22).

Data from Russia-occupied areas – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions – is not available.

Tests were conducted with the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the Public Health Center's virological reference laboratory and regional labs.

In total, there have been 23,969 reports on suspected COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 7,647 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 193 deaths and 601 recoveries, in Ukraine as of 09:30 Kyiv time on April 24.
