Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has listed four regions that are in the lead by the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past day.

"In terms of the regions, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Lviv region (119 cases), Rivne region (76), Zakarpattia region (89), and the city of Kyiv (93)," he said at a briefing on July 9.

Stepanov once again called on Ukrainians to comply with the recommendations for preventing incidence, namely to wear face masks, maintain social distance and use antiseptics.

As UNIAN reported earlier, some 810 new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 were reported in Ukraine in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 51,224 as of the morning of July 9.
