Ukraine reported 1,061 new active cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 74,219 as of the morning of August 4.
The death toll has reached 1,764, including 26 fatalities in the past 24 hours, according to the interactive map by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.
As many as 40,613 patients, including 737 in the past day, have recovered.
The number of active cases as of the morning of August 4 stood at 31,842.
Over the past day, most COVID-19 cases were recorded in Lviv region (146), Kharkiv region (143), Ivano-Frankivsk region (127), and the capital city of Kyiv (108).
No cases were reported in Kirovohrad and Kherson regions.
In total, 1,081,146 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been run since the pandemic outbreak.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine on August 3 reported 990 new COVID-19 cases.
