Ukraine reports 543 new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 49,043 as of the morning of July 6.

"According to the Public Health Center, there were 49,043 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on July 6. Of them, 543 cases were reported in the past 24 hours," Ukraine's Health Ministry said on Facebook in its morning update on July 6.

The overall death toll is 1,262.

As many as 21,703 patients have already recovered.

The overall incidence per region is the following: 6,301 in Lviv region; 5,602 in the city of Kyiv; 5,018 in Chernivtsi region; 4,190 in Rivne region; 3,375 in Zakarpattia region; 2,752 in Volyn region; 2,789 in Kyiv region; 2,700 in Ivano-Frankivsk region; 2,371 in Kharkiv region; 2,101 in Ternopil region; 1,967 cases in Vinnytsia region; 1,883 in Odesa region; 1,468 in Zhytomyr region; 1,115 in Dnipropetrovsk region; 842 in Khmelnytsky region; 670 in Cherkasy region; 659 in Kirovohrad region; 681 in Donetsk region (Ukrainian-controlled districts); 597 in Zaporizhia region; 576 in Chernihiv region; 461 in Mykolaiv region; 324 in Poltava region; 321 in Sumy region; 196 in Kherson region; and 84 in Luhansk region (Ukrainian-controlled districts).

Data from Russia-occupied areas – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions – is not available.

A total of 722,513 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted.

COVID-19 tests were conducted by the Public Health Center's virological reference laboratory and regional laboratories. As of the morning of July 3, 2020, the Center had received 680 reports of suspected cases. In total, there have been 95,315 reports on suspected COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020.
