Ukraine has reported 856 new active cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 over the past day, bringing the total number to 61,851 as of the morning of July 23.

The death toll in Ukraine now is 1,551 people, including 17 who died in the past 24 hours, according to the interactive map of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.

As many as 34,000 patients have recovered.

The number of active COVID-19 cases as of the morning of July 23 was 26,300.

The highest number of new confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in the city of Kyiv (112 cases), Lviv region (109 cases), Ivano-Frankivsk region (76), and Rivne region (71).

The overall incidence per region is as follows:

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 60,995 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 22. They include 1,534 deaths and 33,172 recoveries. Some 829 new cases were recorded on that day.
