Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says 5,713 children and 9,260 healthcare workers have contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19) since the start of the pandemic.

"In the past day, 1,008 people tested positive for the coronavirus, including 65 children and 42 healthcare workers. Some 202 new patients were hospitalized. There were 25 deaths and 387 recoveries," he said at a briefing on August 10, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
The overall death toll is 1,922 people.
As many as 44,359 patients have already recovered.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Lviv region (130 cases), Ivano-Frankivsk region (121), Kharkiv region (117), and Chernivtsi region (108).
