Health minister: Over 8,900 children, 12,000 healthcare workers contract COVID-19

Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says 8,941 children and 12,069 healthcare workers have contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19) since the start of the pandemic.

"In the past day, 2,174 people tested positive for the coronavirus, including 145 children and 77 healthcare workers. Some 269 new patients were hospitalized. There were 31 deaths and 379 recoveries," he said at a briefing on September 7, as reported by the Health Ministry on Facebook.

As many as 62,606 patients have already recovered.
